Nursery Nurse - SEN-Focused Nursery School

Kings Heath, Birmingham | Full-Time, 8.30- 15.30

Are you an experienced and nurturing Nursery Nurse with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive Nursery School in Kings Heath Birmingham, for a dedicated Nursery Nurse to join their experienced Early Years team.

This setting has a high proportion of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including many pupils who are currently awaiting assessment or diagnosis. As such, we are looking for someone who is confident recognising and responding to emerging additional needs and who can provide high-quality, child-centred support within an inclusive Early Years environment.

The Role

Full-time position within a Nursery School setting.

Supporting children aged 2-4 years through engaging, play-based learning.

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to deliver personalised support.

Observing children's development and helping to identify emerging needs.

Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment where every child can flourish.

Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).

Valid Paediatric First Aid

Previous experience working in a nursery or Early Years setting.

Experience supporting children with emerging or un-diagnosed SEN, as well as those with identified additional needs.

A sound understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Confidence adapting activities to meet a range of developmental and communication needs.

A patient, compassionate and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and well being.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
