Start Date: April or September 2026 Contract: Full-time Maternity Cover until March 2027 Salary: £165–£250 per day (experience dependent) Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-Time

About the Role

The school is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Food Technology Teacher to join the Design & Technology department for a maternity cover position running until March 2027. The start date is flexible, with opportunities to begin after the Easter holidays or from September.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

Planning and delivering engaging, practical lessons that inspire creativity and confidence

Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and classroom organisation

Monitoring student progress and providing constructive, timely feedback

Contributing to curriculum development within the wider DT faculty

Working collaboratively with colleagues to support a positive learning culture

Ideal Candidate

UK‑qualified teacher with QTS (or working towards it)

Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4

Strong subject knowledge, including practical skills and food safety awareness

Confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management

Passionate about inspiring students and promoting a love of practical learning

Committed to safeguarding and maintaining high professional standards
