About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant for a long‑term position in North Bristol. This role involves supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage, including non‑verbal children and pupils with EHCPs working 2-3 years below their chronological age.

The school is warm, supportive, and committed to providing a nurturing environment where early learning, communication, and play are at the heart of the curriculum. You will work closely with the class teacher to promote engagement, routine, and developmental progress.

Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Type: Long‑term

Hours: Full‑time

Start Date: ASAP

Daily Rate: £110 per day

Experience: Essential

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

Experience supporting non‑verbal children, using approaches such as:

Visuals

Objects of reference

Makaton (or willingness to learn)

Experience developing fine and gross motor skills through guided and play‑based activities.

Experience supporting early communication, attention and listening, and play skills within an EYFS setting.

Confidence using multi‑sensory resources and strategies to support engagement and learning.

Experience using visual aids, including visual timetables and now-and-next boards, to support routines and transitions.
