EYFS Learning Support Assistant

Full Time January 2026 Start Islington 5 Days per Week

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a committed and enthusiastic EYFS Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in Islington from January 2026. This is a full–time position supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

Support children across the EYFS in their learning and development

Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and play–based learning

Work closely with class teachers to implement the EYFS curriculum

Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment

Provide individual or small–group support as needed

Contribute to assessments, observations, and planning

Support with routines such as outdoor learning, circle time, and continuous provision

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience working within an EYFS setting

A strong understanding of EYFS development and early learning

A patient, caring, and proactive approach

Ability to work well within a team and follow teacher direction

A valid Enhanced Child–Only DBS (or willingness to apply)

Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for Early Years education
