Experienced Teaching Assistant

Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire

Position Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Salary: £89.00-£100.00 per day

Are you a dedicated primary teaching assistant looking to bring your skills and enthusiasm to a thriving primary school community? We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking team in Didcot. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and making a real difference in children's learning and development.

As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across a range of abilities, ensuring all students are engaged, motivated, and able to access the curriculum. Your role will involve both group work and one-to-one support, helping to implement learning plans, monitor progress, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual learners.

You will be expected to:

Provide support during classroom lessons and contribute to a positive, structured learning environment

Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO

Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn

The ideal candidate will be an experienced teaching assistant who thrives on helping young learners achieve their full potential. You should have a good understanding of the national curriculum and experience supporting children with SEND or EAL is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, patience, and a proactive attitude are essential.

Requirements:

Prior experience as a teaching assistant

A relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning)

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
