Tradewind Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join a welcoming secondary school in Doncaster on an ongoing basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English teacher, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), looking for a flexible role within a supportive secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons across the secondary age range, helping students develop their literacy, communication and analytical skills.

The role is 3 days per week and will continue on an ongoing basis, providing consistency for both the successful candidate and the students.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons in line with the school's curriculum.

Teach and support students across Key Stages 3 and/or 4.

Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.

Assess, monitor and provide constructive feedback on student progress.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Encourage students to develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking and critical analysis.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider English department.

Support students in achieving their academic potential.

Maintain accurate records of assessment and student progress.

Attend relevant meetings and contribute to the wider life of the school where required.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school setting.

Strong subject knowledge across the English curriculum.

The ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

A flexible, professional and enthusiastic approach to teaching.

A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Education.ECTs are welcome to apply.
