Deputy SENCO – Secondary School – Perry Barr (B42)

Location: Perry Barr, Birmingham (B42)

Pay: 120 – 160 per day

Contract: Full–Time Long–Term

Long Term Futures is working with a thriving secondary school in Perry Barr to recruit a proactive Deputy SENCO. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about driving inclusive practice and ensuring students with additional needs receive the support they deserve.

About the Role

As Deputy SENCO, you'll work closely with the SENCO to lead SEND provision across the school. You'll help shape and deliver strategies that support students academically, socially, and emotionally, while also ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Deputise for the SENCO to oversee the day–to–day running of the SEN departmentLead annual EHCP reviews, ensuring paperwork is accurate and up to dateWrite and review SEN support plans tailored to student needsSubmit requests for EHCP assessments and liaise with local authoritiesBuild strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agenciesWork collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practiceWhat We're Looking For

Proven experience leading or supporting in a SEND role (Deputy SENCO, SENCO, or similar)Strong knowledge of EHCP processes, reviews, and SEN legislationExperience supporting secondary–aged students with a range of additional needsExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailConfident communicator who can build positive relationships with colleagues and external professionalsWhy Work with Long Term Futures?
