Description

Class Teacher: Year 5 (KS2) – Grimsby

Contract: Fixed–Term (Maternity/Long–term Cover)

Dates: May 2026 – May 2027

Salary: Main Pay Scale (MPS)

The Opportunity

We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join our school for two critical terms. This role is perfect for a teacher who enjoys seeing the "lightbulb moments" that happen during the end of Key Stage 1 and wants to play a pivotal role in shaping a child's early academic journey.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Achievement: Support current Year 5 pupils through their end–of–year assessments with a focus on a "low–stress, high–success" environment.

Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver creative, high–quality lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum.

Phonics Expertise: Utilise your knowledge of phonics (Read Write Inc) to bridge gaps in reading and writing.

Transition Management: Lead a robust transition for the incoming Year 5s, ensuring they feel secure, happy, and ready to learn after the summer break.

What We Are Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience is highly advantageous).

A nurturing approach with high expectations for pupil behaviour and progress.

The ability to work collaboratively within a close–knit KS2 team.

Why Join Us?

A warm, welcoming school community with "well–behaved and enthusiastic" pupils.

A supportive leadership team committed to staff well–being and professional growth.

A fully resourced classroom and a dedicated Teaching Assistant.
