Description

SENCare Recruitment is currently recruiting for a part-time Buddy / Teaching Assistant (TA) to support a 13-year-old young man who attends a mainstream secondary school in the B80 area of Warwickshire.

The young person has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and requires additional support due to a brain injury sustained before birth, which affects his energy levels, sensory processing and fine motor skills. He can sometimes become overwhelmed and experience low mood.

He is a keen sports enthusiast who particularly enjoys cricket and hockey, so we're ideally looking for someone who is active, patient, engaging and able to build a positive relationship with him.

The role will involve:

*

Collecting him from school and providing support until 5pm.

*

Offering companionship, encouragement and emotional support.

*

Helping him manage fatigue, sensory needs and daily routines.

*

Encouraging participation in activities, particularly sports and hobbies.

*

Promoting confidence, independence and general wellbeing.

*

Providing a calm, understanding and supportive environment.

Location: B80 – Warwickshire

Hours: Monday to Friday, afternoons

Weekly hours: Approximately 15–17 hours per week, depending on the school timetable.

Working pattern:

*

Week A: Monday, Thursday and Friday (1:10pm–5pm); Tuesday and Wednesday (3:05pm–5pm).

*

Week B: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (1:10pm–5pm); Wednesday (3:05pm–5pm).

Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, brain injuries, sensory needs or emotional difficulties would be beneficial. However, we're particularly interested in candidates who are personable, reliable and genuinely enjoy working with young people.
