Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Rotherham, S60

Pay Rate: £95 – £130 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Behaviour Support Assistant to join schools in Rotherham. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, this role is ideal for individuals who are confident, calm under pressure, and committed to helping young people succeed both emotionally and academically.

Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

Provide 1:1 or small group support for students displaying challenging behaviour.

Assist with the implementation of tailored behaviour intervention strategies.

Build positive relationships that foster trust, confidence, and personal growth.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote inclusive learning environments.

Promote emotional regulation and resilience in line with school policies.

Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:

Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural challenges.

Be calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure.

Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate conflict.

Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.

A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
