Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Trafford for a Behaviour Mentor, with the intention of the role becoming permanent following a successful 6–week probation period.

This initial probation period will be employed through Tempest, after which the successful candidate will transition onto a direct school contract.

About the School

The school delivers a vocational–focused curriculum, supporting young people to develop practical skills, resilience and independence to succeed beyond education. Students are supported with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and are taught effective strategies to manage emotions, behaviour and challenging situations.

The Role

Working closely with the Behaviour Manager, the Behaviour Mentor will:

Implement, monitor and review behaviour interventions

Support students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour choices

Provide support in and out of the classroom

Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and amendments where required

Build strong, consistent relationships with students presenting with challenging behaviour

Support the wider behaviour strategy across the school

The Ideal Candidate

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs

Strong behaviour management, de–escalation and trauma–informed practice

Confidence contributing to EHCP processes

Proactive, resilient and relationship–focused

Able to work collaboratively within a multi–disciplinary team
