SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor

Location: Morden, South West London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? Do you have the skills to support pupils with additional needs and behavioural challenges in a nurturing, structured school environment?

Uniform Education is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor for a specialist school in Morden. The school supports children and young people with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, ADHD, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs

* Implement tailored behaviour and emotional regulation strategies to promote positive outcomes

* Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons and interventions

* Encourage positive relationships, self-confidence, and resilience among pupils

* Support with de-escalation and behaviour management following individual behaviour plans

* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to track progress and set achievable targets

* Create a calm, consistent, and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil can thrive

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs (essential)

* Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques (Team Teach or equivalent desirable)

* Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting challenging behaviour

* Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

* Understanding of Autism, ADHD, or trauma-informed practice (desirable)

* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
