SEN Behaviour Mentor

Location: East London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a patient, resilient, and proactive Behaviour Mentor passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Do you have the skills to help pupils manage their emotions, develop social skills, and achieve their potential in a structured, supportive environment?

Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Behaviour Mentor for a specialist school in East London. The school works with pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

About the Role:

As a SEN Behaviour Mentor, you will:

Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to develop positive behaviour and emotional regulation

*

Implement behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches to promote engagement and learning

*

Build trusting relationships with pupils to foster confidence, self-esteem, and resilience

*

Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to monitor progress and support EHCP targets

*

Assist in classroom settings and other school areas to maintain a safe, calm, and structured environment

*

Contribute to behaviour reports, meetings, and reviews as required

What We’re Looking For:

*

Experience working with children or young people with SEN and SEMH needs (essential)

*

Knowledge of behaviour management, restorative approaches, and de-escalation techniques (Team Teach desirable)

*

Patient, empathetic, and consistent approach to supporting challenging behaviour

*

Strong communication and teamwork skills

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
