Behaviour Mentor

Location: Kennington, South East London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you a confident, empathetic, and resilient Behaviour Mentor who’s passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? Do you have the skills to support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs in a calm and structured school environment?

Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for a supportive and inclusive school in Kennington. The school provides tailored education and pastoral support for pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism (ASC), ADHD, and behavioural challenges.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural or emotional needs

* Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques

* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and self-regulation

* Support classroom learning by helping pupils stay focused and motivated

* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to develop and review behaviour plans

* Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-confidence through restorative approaches

* Contribute to a safe, positive, and respectful school culture where every pupil feels valued

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (essential)

* Knowledge of positive behaviour support or trauma-informed approaches (desirable)

* Training in de-escalation or positive handling (e.g. Team Teach) is advantageous

* Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
