Autism Specialist Assistant – SEND Schools, Shrewsbury

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Pay Rate: Pay to Scale

A welcoming and inclusive SEND school in Shrewsbury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role:

*

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs

*

Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of differentiated learning activities

*

Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing

*

Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

*

Adapting resources and strategies to meet individual pupil needs

The Ideal Candidate:

*

Experience supporting children with SEN (school, care, youth work or similar settings)

*

A patient, empathetic and proactive approach

*

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and pupils

*

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
