Description

TeacherActive are looking for a compassionate and committed ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs within a Swansea primary school. This full- time role involves working closely with class teachers and the ALNCo to provide tailored support that enables every child to reach their full potential.

You may work 1:1 with a pupil or support small groups with a range of needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ALN

Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support targets

Support communication, emotional regulation, and social development

Work closely with the class teacher and ALNCo

Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour

Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment

The Ideal Candidate will:

Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) – desirable

Have experience working with children with Additional Learning Needs (in school or similar setting)

Be patient, empathetic, and resilient

Have a good understanding of ALN , particularly ASD, ADHD, or SEMH

Be confident using behaviour management strategies

Have strong communication and teamwork skills
