ALN Teacher – Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a qualified Teacher specialising in Additional Learning Needs (ALN) to join a dedicated special school in Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf. This versatile role involves working across primary, secondary, and SEN sectors supporting learners with diverse Additional Learning Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), and challenging behaviour. The Teacher - ALN Specialist role offers flexible part-time or full-time hours, making it suitable for educators seeking varied employment opportunities within the Wales region.

This position is ideal for an experienced teacher with a strong background in SEN settings and substantial knowledge of behaviour management strategies. Candidates should hold at least one year’s paid teaching experience in a special school environment, possess registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), and have a current Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one. An understanding of delivering a range of subjects at both primary and secondary levels, coupled with competence in behaviour support, is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include supporting and supervising students with ASD, EBD, or challenging behaviour, assisting with classroom preparations, and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the school’s behaviour policies. The Teacher - ALN Specialist will assist learners at the start and end of the day, help prepare classroom activities, and work closely with staff to create a safe and productive learning environment. The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs and foster positive relationships with learners is essential.
