Adhoc SEN Teaching Assistants needed!

Are you a passionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs? We’re currently recruiting for enthusiastic and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to join Teaching Personnel on an adhoc basis. We work closesly with a variety of primary and secondary SEN provisions in the Preston and surrounding areas, including Leyland and Bamber Bridge.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide classroom and one-to-one support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse SEN needs.

Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and interventions.

Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills.

Maintain a nurturing and safe classroom environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children, young people or adults with SEN (not necessarily within a school setting).

Understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.

A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children.

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).

Flexibility and availability for ad hoc cover at short notice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
