Job Title: Online 1:1 SEMH Tutor

Location: Leicester City / Remote

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Contract / Flexible Hours

Pay: GBP20 GBP35 per hour, depending on experience

TeacherActive is looking for patient, resilient and engaging Online 1:1 Tutors to support young people across Leicester City who are currently receiving education outside of a mainstream school setting.

The pupils we support may have Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, display challenging behaviour, have experienced permanent exclusion, or have become disengaged from education.

As an Online 1:1 Tutor, you'll provide individual tuition remotely, helping pupils rebuild their confidence, develop positive relationships with learning and make academic progress.

This role is about much more than simply delivering lessons. We're looking for tutors who can build trust, maintain engagement and adapt their approach to pupils who may have had difficult experiences within education.

The successful Online Tutor will have:

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviourExperience working with pupils who have experienced permanent exclusionPrevious teaching, tutoring, SEND or alternative provision experienceConfidence delivering engaging 1:1 sessions onlineStrong behaviour management and de–escalation skillsThe ability to adapt learning around individual needs and abilitiesA calm, patient and resilient approachStrong safeguarding awarenessAccess to a reliable computer/laptop and internet connection Your role could include:

Delivering personalised 1:1 online tuitionSupporting pupils with core subjects including English and MathsRe–engaging young people who have become disengaged from educationCreating interactive and accessible online sessionsAdapting activities around the pupil's interests, ability and SEMH needsEstablishing clear expectations and consistent boundariesSupporting pupils to develop confidence and positive attitudes towards learningRecording attendance, engagement and academic progressProviding regular feedback to relevant professionals In return, TeacherActive can offer:
