Description

Passionate SEN Tutor Wanted – 1:1 Year 9 Tuition (ASD Needs) in Thanet

Pay: 27/hour

Bonus: For every 5th hour worked, enjoy an extra hour's pay for planning and preparation!

Are you committed to empowering children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you find fulfilment in delivering tailored, one–on–one learning that helps students thrive? If so, Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated SEN Tutor to support a Year 9 pupil with high ASD needs in the Thanet area for 10 hours per week (so you get paid for 12). Our tutors are able to take on 1, 2 or even 3 referrals at a time.

This rewarding role involves providing individualised tuition for a young learner who is currently without a school placement. The student has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), and you will play a key role in helping him achieve his learning and developmental goals through consistent, structured support.

Your Role as an SEN Tutor

Deliver engaging, one–to–one tuition tailored to the pupil's specific needs.

Support both academic progress and social–emotional development.

Implement strategies that promote communication, focus, and positive engagement.

Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure continuity of support.

Keep accurate records of progress, attendance, and session feedback.

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or complex SEN needs.

A strong understanding of EHCPs and targeted interventions.

A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning.

Excellent communication and relationship–building skills.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

You must hold an enhanced Child–only DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one ( 62, reimbursed after 20 days of work).

Why Join Tradewind?

Maximise your earnings: Competitive pay and transparent support.

Ongoing development: Free access to 2,500+ CPD resources via The National College.

Wellbeing first: People matter – we're proud to be a Sunday Times Top 100 Employer for four years running. We value diversity and are proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer.

Ready to make a difference in Thanet? Apply today and help shape a brighter future for students with SEN.
