1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Quinton, Birmingham (B32)

Start Date: September 2025

Weekly Pay: £455 - £480

Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

Are you experienced in supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs? Are you looking for a rewarding 1:1 role where you can make a real difference?

We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Quinton (B32) who are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young boy in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The pupil also has speech and language needs and occasionally displays challenging behaviour linked to his SEN.

The Role:

In this position, you will be:

Providing 1:1 support to the pupil during whole-class learning

Assisting with behaviour regulation and helping the pupil develop self-regulation strategies

Delivering pre-planned speech and language exercises to support communication development

Working closely with the class teacher to monitor and update on the pupil's progress

Supporting learning in line with the KS1 curriculum

What We're Looking For:

A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience working within a classroom environment

A sound understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum

Previous experience supporting children with Autism, speech and language needs, and challenging behaviour

A calm, resilient and patient approach to working with children with SEN
