1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Harlow

Location: Harlow, Essex

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Vision for Education is seeking a compassionate and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs at a warm and inclusive primary school in Harlow. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience in supporting children with SEN who is passionate about helping young learners thrive.

The Role:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs, helping them engage with learning and school life

Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and activities to meet the pupil’s needs

Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment both in and out of the classroom

Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to staff and contributing to review meetings

Help build the child’s confidence, independence, and communication skills

The Ideal Candidate:

Has previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN support role

Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management strategies

Understands the importance of routine, consistency, and positive reinforcement

Confident working both independently and as part of a team

Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning – desirable but not essential)
