Description
The Jupiter 4 is an analogue keyboard synthesiser from the renowned brand Roland. With its unique synth 49 keys and advanced sound capabilities, this model is highly sought after. It offers a rare and exclusive experience for those seeking a high-quality and versatile synthesiser for their music production needs. Roland’s first self-contained 4 voice analogue polyphonic synth. Only 3000 to 4000 of these were made from 1978 - 1981. Within that figure many were modified, others damaged. To find one like mine, undamaged, unmodified, in excellent condition with original manual is as rare as rocking horse poo! This JP4 was bequeathed to me in 1987 from my Aunt who had it from new. I had it in my home studio as she did before me, so it has been loved & well looked after for its “almost” half a century age! It’s not been used very much, let alone gigged. I’m reluctant to let it go as it’s such an exemplary piece of musical history, used by the likes of John Michele Jarre, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Human League etc the iconic bands of the 80’s. More recently it was chosen to create the now well recognised theme tune of Stranger Things. It’s only going to go up in value especially as it’s nearing its 50 year anniversary. Of course there are signs of age ie: a couple of small scratches, some wear & tear on the wood ends, slight oxidisation on some screws, nothing really notable but what I consider just enough to not call it mint condition. The only reason I’m letting it go is due to retirement and packing up my recording studio to go travelling, which means it will sit in a loft somewhere for the rest of its days and I don’t want that. It deserves a life. Not keen to post as it’s too valuable. Realistically priced for a quick sale.
