Description

For sale is my 2000 Suzuki Inazuma 400, a Japanese market grey import that is fully A2 compliant. It was imported by D&K Stafford and registered by me. I’ve owned it since 2019, and it has been a brilliant bike throughout my A2 licence period.

The bike reads in kilometres, and during my ownership I’ve added around 25,380 km (15,770 miles). It has never left me stranded and has taken me all over Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall without complaint. It’s restricted and comes with the official A2 compliance certificate, making it an ideal choice for anyone moving up licence categories or looking for a lively, characterful smaller bike.

It features a Suzuki GS1000S style fairing with a matching wrap, giving it a distinctive, head turning look. Recent upgrades and parts include:
• New Bridgestone Battlax T31 tyres (under 200 miles)
• Renthal flat bars
• Brembo brakes
• Stainless steel downpipes and collector
• Oxford heated grips
• Recent chain
• Big bore Delkevic end can – loud, throaty, and full of character
• Two keys

The bike rides well, pulls cleanly through all gears, and absolutely screams at full tilt — it’s a genuinely fun machine.

To be fully transparent, there are a few issues that need attention:
• The engine oil consumption is quite high, engine smokes slightly, and followers have mentioned a strong smell of fuel from the exhaust.
• I believe it would benefit from a top end rebuild with a rebore, new piston rings and valve stem oil seals or alternatively, a Bandit 600 / Inazuma 750 /GSXR 600 or 750 engine can be fitted I understand.
• Fork seals are leaking and need replaced.
• It needs a new battery.
• The rear shocks look good but are cheap eBay Chinese units — the bike still handles fine, but better shocks would improve it.

I’ll be sad to see it go — it’s been a fantastic bike, and I’ve loved owning it but have now passed my full licence and moved onto a larger bike (VFR800). The bike is located 15 miles south of Aberdeen, and viewings are welcome and encouraged to fully appreciate it.
