Bowers & Wilkins 705 S2 high end speakers
Tottenham, London

Description
Up for sale my beloved Bowers & Wilkins 705 S2 high end speakers.
Breathtaking performance across the whole frequency range, you will listen to well known songs and hear details you never knew existed before. The tweeter enclosure is decoupled from the bass cabinet, with an innovative suspended system that enables the tweeters to be unaffected by the bass vibrations of the main cabinet.
The tweeter slightly overhangs the main cabinet and allows for better time alignment between treble and the rest of the frequency range that delivers an exceptionally detailed and extended top end, it also reaches further, with the first break-up mode at 47kHz.
The treble is crisp and clear without ever veering into hardness or harshness.
Bass is tight and controlled, perfectly balanced and authoritative.
The midrange is textured and rich, devoid of cabinet colorations.
They accept all types of wire options, can of course be bi-wired and bi-amped.
They can also mounted on stands if desired.
Never driven hard, life in a London flat doesn't allow high levels of music volume...
Just moved in a smaller place, I have no room for them sadly...
Stunning luxurious design; they look amazing without the grills, adding a touch of class to any decor.
Photos taken outside for optimal natural light conditions.
The speakers are in great condition however they do have superficial marks present, impossible to capture in the photos, gloss paint is mirror like. A small chip on the front right edge on one speaker, a couple more at the back bottom speaker.
Both woofers and tweeters are in perfect condition.
Impossible to wipe out all the dust specks because of the gloss reflective paint.
Original boxes not available but rest assured they will be packed with infinite care to make sure they arrive safe and sound.
Best price anywhere online.
Collection ideal next to Tottenham stadium in North London.
Otherwise will be posted for free.
With state of the art features such as the tweeter-on-top design borrowed from the 800 Series Diamond, this uncompromising high performance two-way speaker reveals subtle nuances in music others miss.
Even challenging instruments such as the piano are conveyed with uncanny realism, presence and transparency.
B&W claims that the Continuum midrange driver is the result of eight years of R&D and more than 70 prototypes. The driver is claimed to operate on the same principle of controlled breakup as B&W’s Kevlar cones, but with radically improved performance that results in a more open and neutral midrange.
The second major improvement in the 700 Series 2 is a refinement to the tweeter diaphragm. What used to be an aluminum dome is now aluminum combined with a thin layer of carbon deposition, to increase stiffness. B&W claims that this raises the dome’s breakup frequency to 47kHz. B&W says that aluminum alone breaks up at around 30kHz, while the diamond tweeter used in their 800 speakers breaks up at 70kHz.
