Description

SEN Support Worker, Gerrards Cross, SL9. A Monday to Friday position supporting a cheeky, engaging, and fun-loving 8-year-old girly girl with complex care and medical needs. Offering: £34,300.00+ Gross per Annum

Nearest Station: Gerrards Cross (14-minute walk to family home)

Salary/Wage: £34,300.00+ Gross per Annum | £19.80 Gross per Hour

Driving Requirements: Essential, automatic WAV for use whilst on duty

Essential: Experience supporting a child with SEN / Neurodiversity, PEG feeding and Epilepsy training

Start Date: ASAP

Days & Hours: Average 37 hours per week. Term-time: Monday to Friday, 7.30am–5.30pm (10.30am–2.00pm unpaid break) School Holidays: Monday to Friday, 7.30am–5.30pm (1-hour paid break) Early Finish Wednesdays: 10.30am (term-time), 2.00pm (school holidays)

About the Client: Elsie is 8 years old and lives in her fully adapted family home with Mum, Dad, her older brother and younger sister. She enjoys swimming, trips to the farm, cartoons, shopping and playing with her siblings. Elsie has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a PEG for all nutrition, fluids and medication, is a full-time wheelchair user, and receives 2:1 support day and night. She communicates using an E-Tran frame, facial expressions and body language. A neuropsychologist supports her care plan and trains the team. Snap Care has recruited for Elsie’s team for over five years, with many long-standing staff.

The Role at a Glance: Working alongside another team member, you will support Elsie with all aspects of daily living, therapy programmes and medical care. Mornings begin with a handover, finishing feeds, personal care and driving Elsie to school (30-minute journey). The daytime break is free while Elsie is at school, allowing time for study, hobbies or personal admin. Afternoons include school pick-up, therapy sessions, appointments or activities. Parents take over by 5.30pm, with night care arriving at 7.30pm.

This Job Would Suit: An experienced SEN professional who is a confident communicator, team player and comfortable working within a family home. Ideal for someone able to use the extended midday break productively. Opportunities to travel in the UK and abroad may be available. Non-smoking working environment.
