Are you looking for a rewarding flexible role in the school holidays? Are you patient, kind and have an enthusiasm for childcare? This role could be the perfect fit! I am looking for a PA to support my Peppa pig obsessed 7 year old son. My son is cuddly, warm natured, happy and enjoys the company of others. He is non verbal and autistic, but uses gestures and cues to communicate.

He is an active child who loves going to the park or using the trampoline in the garden. I am looking for support during the school holidays so that I can get some respite and spend time with my other children. The support will also mean that my son can enjoy some different activities away form the home and help him build confidence away from the family. Driving is not essential as we are assessable for public transport and using public transport with my son would also be a fun activity for him. Even better if he can go out and choose a sticker book to complete on the bus journey home!

Duties include:

- Personal grooming

- Eating and drinking assistance

- Other relevant duties as required

- Transportation

- Companionship

- Dressing / undressing

- Bathroom assistance

- Tidying up after activities in the home environment

- Using public transport

- Changing nappies when required

- Ensuing safety at all times/constant supervision

Candidate qualities:

- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

- Reliable with good timekeeping

- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

- Hygienic, tidy and well organised

- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

- Honest and cheerful

- Creative

- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
