Description

Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Nuclear sector, is seeking a skilled Wiring/Assembly Tech for a contract role at their site in Wimborne.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold the sole British nationality.Fully onsite in Wimborne, Dorset. 15-16.71 p/h PAYE, inside IR35.12 month contract.Key Responsibilities:

Wiring complex assemblies using technical drawings, wiring/circuit diagrams, and work instructionsTerminal installationSoldering high-density multi-pin connectionsSoldering surface mount devicesMechanical assembly of control cabinets, racks, frames, and associated metalworkManufacture of cable loomsPrinted circuit board assembly and repairRepairs and modifications including upgrades in accordance with documented proceduresComprehensive checks on wired assembliesEnsuring all paperwork (hard and soft copy) and electronic systems including ERP is completed accurately to ensure traceabilityMaintaining good standards of housekeeping and cleanliness whilst complying with best health and safety practice, including ESD precautionsSkills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Academic qualification or practical experience in electrical assemblyPrevious assembly experience within a workshop manufacturing environmentExcellent soldering skills including complex high-density connectors and surface mount devicesMeticulous assembling skillsAble to read and understand electrical drawings including wiring diagrams and PCB schematicsStrong time management and ability to work unsupervised to defined deadlinesGood communicator and team playerBasic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelDesired Skills:

Existing qualification to IPC-A-610/620 would be an advantageExperience with COSHHEssential Functions:

This role is based in the manufacturing facility and is not physically demanding, although some lifting of equipment will be requiredAbility to attain UKSV security clearance
