Job Title: SC Cleared Server Engineer

Location: Portsmouth

Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC clearance process

We have a requirement for an IT Server engineer to provide technical leadership and support to IT projects and programmes.

The role will work with project managers and technical lead, to deliver IT solutions.

The candidate will use their SME knowledge to lead the delivery of complex technical tasks, as directed by the Technical lead, to support the delivery of projects. This will include customer and stakeholder engagement.

The candidate could be involved with all stages of the lifecycle of an IT from conception through to in-service, applying their skills to tasks such as:

Design

Implementation

Integration

Test and evaluation

Responsibilities & Outputs:

The role will be responsible for:

Delivery: Working to time and budget, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Strike Net Experimentation Environment working alongside a Network Engineer.

Level 3 Support to all Strike Net Infrastructure

Support Secure by Design implementation

User guides and work instructions

Design or process documents

Hardware or software builds

System installation or integration

Support Config and Control

Technical presentations

Technical documentation

Test plans and reports

Accountabilities:

Undertake the delivery of standard tasking independently

Provide new perspectives and challenge existing solutions for new tasks.

Contribute to process improvements

Provide mentoring support to junior colleagues

Supporting technical aspects of proposals

Provide estimation of effort required for tasks

Proven interpersonal/communication skills in order to convey complex information.

Experience of working on a range of engineering projects.

Good motivation and drive to see issues addressed.

Ability to stimulate creative ideas and helps integrate their contributions into professional, deliverable solutions.
