Description
Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Govan. This contract role, focusing on the Type 26 programme, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the construction and consolidation of units across various shipyards.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing commercial support to the subcontract and outsourcing teamManaging costs related to construction and subcontracted elementsEnsuring compliance with financial regulations and contractual obligationsConducting cost analysis and budget managementPreparing and evaluating tender documentsCollaborating with various stakeholders to oversee the outsourcing processMonitoring project progress and preparing detailed reportsSupporting the integration of outsourced units at the Govan site
Job Requirements:
Experience in quantity surveying within the Defence & Security sectorUnderstanding of subcontract and outsourcing processesStrong commercial acumen and cost management skillsExcellent negotiation and communication abilitiesProficiency in using relevant quantity surveying softwareAbility to work entirely onsite at the Govan location, with some work across ScotstounBPSS security clearance or eligibility to obtain itRelevant degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or a related field
Contract Details:
Contract duration: 6 monthsFully onsite position with no remote working capabilityWorking as part of a team of approximately 18 membersHands-on involvement in the Type 26 programme
