Export Officer

Description

Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Export Officer to join their team in Samlesbury on a 12-month contract basis. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods and materials within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing export control documentation to ensure compliance with national and international regulationsCoordinating import and export shipping activities, including liaison with freight forwarders and customs officialsAssisting with the preparation of licences and permits required for the export of defence-related productsMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of export control laws and regulationsEnsuring accurate records and audit trails for all export transactionsSupporting the export control team in developing and implementing export control policies and proceduresProviding advice and guidance on export control issues to internal stakeholdersParticipating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance export control processes and systems

Job Requirements:

Experience in export control and compliance, preferably within the defence or security sectorsKnowledge of import and export shipping processes and regulationsProficiency in preparing and managing export documentationFamiliarity with the BAE-Export Control Assistant toolStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervisionSecurity Clearance (SC) in progress or willingness to undergo the process
