Job Title: Electrical Assembly Technician

Location: Ampthill, Bedfordshire - 4 day week, Mon-Thurs on-site

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: 32,000 - 34,500 per annum depending on experience

Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, require an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join their multi-disciplined team.

Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for BPSS and SC security clearance.

What the role of the Electrical Assembly Technician entails:

We require a competent technician, capable of cable and harness manufacturing working from drawings and engineering instruction.Competent and safe use of all hand tools.Use of Jigs, fixtures and measuring tools.Problem solver with a positive attitude.Working with support from engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware.

What experience you need to be the successful Electrical Assembly Technician:

Cable and Harness manufacturing to specifications using Work instructions and Engineering drawings working in a medium volume production environmentUnderstanding of ESD controls.Experience in the use of crimp tools and ability to hand solder to high accuracy.Competent with using IT/Software packages.Cleanliness and housekeeping (5S) methodology.A high level of health and safety awareness.Certified IPC 620 or experience working with or understanding of IPC/J-Standards.
