Key Responsibilities

Carry out drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, countersinking, facing, and stud welding operations to specification.Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Select, inspect, and safely use the appropriate tools and equipment.Ensure all work is completed to required quality standards and compliance requirements.Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.Identify and resolve routine issues, escalating where necessary.Maintain tools and equipment to support efficient operations.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in mechanical manufacturing, fabrication, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering environments.Competence in: Drilling to depth and clear holesFlat-bottom drillingCountersinkingReamingTappingPositional boringCounterboring and back knifingFacingStud weldingStrong understanding of quality standards, product conformance, and continuous improvement practices.

Qualifications

Completed and approved apprenticeship in a relevant trade.NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
