Portsmouth Area Civil Engineering & Water Sector

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller to join a well-established and growing organisation operating within the civil engineering and water infrastructure sector.

Based near Portsmouth, this role offers the chance to become a key member of a successful project team, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow, management and control of project documentation across major infrastructure schemes.

The Role

As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing the flow of project information and supporting operational teams to ensure all documentation is accurately controlled, distributed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Providing administrative and document control support to project teams. Managing the receipt, processing and distribution of technical documents, drawings and project information. Issuing design packs, tender documentation and project correspondence to internal and external stakeholders. Liaising with clients, subcontractors, consultants and site teams on a daily basis. Maintaining document management systems and ensuring documentation is stored correctly and easily accessible. Creating, updating and administering user permissions and distribution lists. Monitoring document revisions and ensuring all parties have access to the latest information. Supporting project compliance and quality assurance processes. About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in a Document Controller position within a technical environment, ideally construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure. Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience using document control systems and electronic document management platforms. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders. A proactive and methodical approach to managing workloads and priorities. What's On Offer?
