Product Developer – Dunstable

Think Specialist Recruitment are working with a well–established, valued client. We have worked closely with them for the last ten years and have helped recruit a number of strong hires into their business during that time. Due to exciting growth via a new product line, they are now looking for a Product Development Coordinator to take ownership of the new range and make the role their own.

Our client is an established and thriving consumer products business in Dunstable. They design and produce their own ranges alongside officially licensed products, and you'll oversee the plan and delivery for your allocated ranges (licensed, own–brand or both) from concept through to production, launch and sell–through.

This position is based in our clients Dunstable office and is paying a salary between 30k – 40k (depending on experience).

The role

Own the production process, from initial idea through to execution and on–shelf and onlineWork directly with overseas and UK factories on specifications, technical drawings, samples, costs and timelinesBe the day–to–day contact for licensors, managing brand and approval requirementsWork with the design team during initial product developmentPrepare concepts and mock–ups for internal sign–off and licensor approvalAnalyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunitiesManage the product lifecycle, including reviews, new introductions and exitsWork with the e–commerce team on merchandising, and support marketing with launch plans and promotional activityAbout you

Experience taking physical products from concept to production in consumer goods, giftware, toys, stationery, homeware or a similar environment. This could be through buying, sourcing, NPD or product coordinationConfident dealing with suppliers or factories on specifications, samples, costs and deadlinesCommercially aware and analytical, able to read sales and performance numbers and reach clear conclusionsHighly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple ranges and deadlines at onceExperience with licensed products or approval processes is a bonus but not essential
