Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Vehicle Buyer to support Goodwins Auto Salvage. This is a self‑employed, commission‑only role requiring full‑time availability.

You will be responsible for valuing, negotiating, and purchasing non‑retail vehicles from private sellers, traders, garages, and fleets — including older cars, high‑mileage vehicles, non‑runners, mechanically faulty cars, damaged vehicles, and stock that isn’t suitable for retail. If you have motor‑trade buying experience and enjoy securing deals on a wide range of vehicles, this role offers uncapped earning potential.

Responsibilities

Handle inbound enquiries and convert them into purchased vehicles
Source additional stock through private sellers, traders, garages, and online platforms
Accurately value vehicles based on condition, history, and market pricing
Negotiate confidently to secure vehicles at the right price
Manage your own pipeline, appointments, and daily buying activity
Build and maintain strong relationships with traders, garages, and regular suppliers
Maintain clear communication with the team when required
Complete admin tasks such as tracking leads and enquiries, arranging transport or drop‑offs, and booking vehicles into the system

Requirements

Motor trade buying experience is essential
Strong negotiation skills and confidence dealing with the public
Ability to assess vehicle condition and risk
Self‑motivated, proactive, and driven to earn
Full‑time availability Monday to Friday
Full UK driving licence
Comfortable working self‑employed, commission‑only
Good communication and people skills

Pay

Self‑employed, commission‑only
Uncapped earnings based on performance
No basic salary

Work Location:

Macclesfield SK10 2LP: reliably commute for In-person role.
