Trek One Series 1.2 Lightweight Road Bike – Approx. 2013 – £80 Fixed Price

Selling my Trek One Series 1.2 road bike L frame, approximately 2013. 9x2 gear.

The biggest advantage of this bike is that it is very lightweight, making it quick, easy to ride and easy to carry. It's particularly well suited to commuting and city riding. Being an older and fairly discreet-looking bike also means you're not leaving an expensive-looking new bike parked around the city.

The bike is currently rideable and all gears work and shift well. I've recently ridden it 12 miles around Birmingham without any issues.

Known wear / maintenance required:

The chain is showing approximately 0.75% wear on a chain-wear gauge, so it is due for replacement. Given the age and wear of the drivetrain, the rear cassette should also be checked and may need replacing at the same time. // no skip gears.l

There is some drivetrain noise when using the larger front chainring, although it still works and the bike rides normally.

The rear hub was recently serviced and regreased, which improved it. However, there may still be some play in the rear wheel/hub. I haven't had this further diagnosed, so the new owner should have it checked/adjusted.

If you're mechanically minded and have the skills to do your own bike maintenance, I think this could be a great bike to keep going for a long time. The worn drivetrain components themselves aren't particularly exotic or expensive; it's the labour and maintenance that makes less sense for me.

I don't have the bike-maintenance skills to do these jobs myself, so rather than continuing to pay a shop to maintain an older bike, I've decided I'm probably not the right owner for it long-term and am moving to a newer commuter bike.

As it's approximately a 2013 bike, there are cosmetic marks and normal signs of use consistent with its age. Please see the photos.
