About The Job

As a Plant Area Expert, you'll be responsible for supporting the day–to–day running of the plant department. This is a hands–on role where you'll spend most of your time outdoors or working in greenhouses and polytunnels, caring for plants, maintaining eye–catching displays, and ensuring customers receive knowledgeable and friendly advice. You'll take responsibility for specific plant areas, assist with deliveries and stock movements, support customer orders, and help keep the department looking its best.

The Ideal Person

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of plants and horticulture, gained through previous experience in a garden centre, plant retail, nursery, or similar environment. You'll be confident dealing with customers, able to offer advice on plant care and planting combinations, and comfortable working as part of a wider team. Whether you have formal horticultural training or have built your knowledge through practical experience, you'll need a genuine passion for plants and a desire to help customers make the most of their gardens.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and care for indoor and outdoor plant areas.Water, replenish, and monitor plant stock to ensure quality standards are maintained.Create attractive displays that inspire customers and encourage sales.Provide knowledgeable advice on plant care, gardening, and planting combinations.Assist with customer orders, deliveries, and stock transfers.Maintain clean, tidy, and safe plant areas.Support colleagues across different areas of the business when required.What We're Looking For:

Strong plant and horticultural knowledge.Experience working in a garden centre, plant retail, nursery, or similar environment.Excellent customer service and communication skills.A confident and friendly approach when dealing with the public.The ability to work independently and use your initiative.A flexible approach, including working weekends and bank holidays when required.What's On Offer:
