This is a hands–on role, combining setting, operating and programming machinery with day–to–day team leadership. You'll spend time on the shop floor, helping people solve problems and keeping production on track. The machines won't run on encouragement alone.
What you'll be doing as Machine Shop Team Leader
Organising people, machines and tooling to meet production targets.Supporting and training machinists, setting clear priorities and maintaining quality.Troubleshooting machining issues and escalating maintenance needs.Keeping working practices safe and the shop floor organised.Finding practical ways to reduce waste and improve processes.Working with the Production Supervisor and covering when needed.
What you'll bring to the table as Machine Shop Team Leader
A solid machining background, experience setting and programming equipment, and confidence reading engineering drawings. You'll understand tooling, feeds, speeds and workholding, and have experience leading or supporting a team.
Fanuc programming and familiarity with lean manufacturing would be useful. Above all, you'll be someone who communicates clearly, gets stuck in and helps others do a good job.
