Purchasing Assistant

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum

Hours: 38 Hours per Week

Contract: Permanent

Stafflex are proudly working with a growing local business to find a Junior Purchasing Assistant. This role reports to the Purchasing Manager and is placed within a growing operation. The Purchasing Assistant will support day-to-day procurement activity, with a strong focus on accuracy.

The position is ideal for someone who's looking for a role in a process-driven environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can communicate well with people. We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and someone who is keen to create a career for themselves.

Key Responsibilities:

Raising, checking, and processing Purchase Orders (POs) accurately.

Acting as a point contact for suppliers, maintaining preferred supplier information and resolving order-related queries.

Handling enquiries from staff

Receiving quotes from nominated suppliers and placing orders on in-house systems.

Internal coordination; liaising with production, finance and warehouse teams to ensure the timely delivery of goods and smooth flow of information.

Monitoring stock levels, tracking open orders, and coordinating deliveries.

Maintaining accurate purchase records, registers and documentation.

Compiling purchasing and stock data to support operational decision-making.

Investigating discrepancies relating to orders, deliveries, or invoicing. xjnqpsq Experience and Skills:

Strong technical proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office

Excellent attention to detail

Organised, able to prioritise workload, and comfortable in a process-driven environment

Confident communication skills
