A client of ours in the Wickford area is recruiting a Junior Buyer to join their team on a temporary basis for 4 months, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in procurement, purchasing or supply chain to develop their skills within a supportive team.

Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will support the purchasing function by placing orders, monitoring stock levels, liaising with suppliers and maintaining accurate purchasing records. This role would suit an organised, proactive individual with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor order progress and liaise with suppliers to confirm delivery dates.

Help maintain stock levels and ensure goods are ordered accurately and on time.

Maintain accurate purchasing records, product information and supplier data.

Assist with logging supplier non–conformances and updating procurement systems.

Develop knowledge of products, materials, suppliers and purchasing processes.

Communicate with sales and production teams to keep them updated on order progress.

Support the procurement team in meeting deadlines and maintaining service standards.

Skills and Experience Required

An interest in procurement, purchasing or supply chain.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

A proactive, self–motivated approach with a positive, can–do attitude.

A willingness to learn, develop and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Previous experience in a buying or purchasing role would be beneficial but is not essential, provided you have the right attitude and willingness to learn.

If you are organised, enthusiastic and looking to gain experience in procurement, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career.

If you feel you meet the above criteria and would like to be considered for this Junior Buyer position, please apply with your CV.
