Internal Account Manager
Location: Kirkcaldy, Scotland
Salary: 35,000 – 38,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonus, profit share and benefits
Employment Type: Full–time (ideally 5 days per week in the office but hybrid would be considered)
We are working on behalf of a growing, family–owned SME operating within the tooling and industrial supply sector. Due to continued expansion, the business is looking to recruit a driven and commercially focused Internal Account Manager to join its established internal sales team based in Kirkcaldy.
This opportunity would suit a motivated sales professional who enjoys building long–term customer relationships, identifying commercial opportunities and contributing directly to the growth of a successful and ambitious organisation.
The Role
The Internal Account Manager will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth through the effective management of existing customer accounts and the identification of new business opportunities across defined market segments.
This is a telephone–led, internally focused role, working closely with external Business Development colleagues, Sales Management, Customer Service and Marketing teams. The role will involve qualifying leads, re–engaging lapsed customers, supporting the sales pipeline and providing market intelligence to help shape wider sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively manage and grow existing customer accounts to maximise sales potentialConduct outbound calls to existing customers, cold prospects and lapsed accountsQualify new leads and pass opportunities to the external Business Development teamRe–engage gone–away customers to identify renewal and upsell opportunitiesAnalyse customer purchasing trends to identify gaps and revenue leakageIdentify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accountsWork collaboratively with Sales and Customer Service teams to support opportunities and merchandising requirementsPromote the company's product and service offering to secure customer commitment and ordersMaintain accurate and up–to–date CRM records of all customer interactionsEnsure compliance with sales procedures, policies and documentation requirementsGather and share market and competitor intelligenceAchieve and exceed individual and team KPIs, including call activity, conversion rates and pipeline progressionTake accountability for delivering agreed growth targets in partnership with sales managementRequirements
Strong verbal and written communication skillsProven experience in internal sales, telesales or account managementAbility to manage objections and remain resilient in a target–driven environmentStrong organisational skills with effective time management and follow–upAnalytical approach to understanding customer behaviour and market trendsHighly motivated, target–focused and commercially awareCollaborative team player with the ability to work cross–functionallyAdaptable, proactive and solution–focusedConfident using CRM systems and sales reporting toolsExperience within a B2B environment is desirableBenefits
