Highways Clerk of Works West London AreaGBP300 per day umbrella Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm (Hybrid position)Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contractRequirements Experience of working in the Transport and Highways industry at a project delivery level.Experience of working within current legislation including:The Highways Act 1980,New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, o Traffic Management Act 2014, o Road Traffic Regulations 1984, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, o Flood Water Management Act 2010, o Town and Country Planning Act 1990 o Including required codes of practice and statutory instruments.Responsibilities To supervise contractors to oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with the Council's Streetsmart Design Guide, works orders, drawings, specifications, highway construction standards and Project Engineers' instructions.To ensure compliance by verifying that all construction activities comply with relevant environmental and construction regulations and local permitting requirementsTo ensure quality control is undertaken by regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes to maintain high quality throughout the project.To ensure health and safety is implemented and enforced and all safety protocols on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for construction workers and the public.To ensure traffic management at work sites is correctly managed. To ensure full compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Traffic Management Act 2004.PLEASE NOTE: All applications are monitored and shortlisted candidates will be contacted via phone call or email.
