Job Title: Buyer (Manufacturing) 9 Month Contract

Location: Poole & Bournemouth Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 WFH after onboarding)

Rate: Up to 20 per hour DOE

Overview

A well–established manufacturing organisation is seeking a proactive Buyer to join its Procurement team on a 9–month contract. This role plays a key part in supporting manufacturing operations through effective supplier management, order control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on–time deliveryManage open orders and chase suppliers when neededRaise purchase orders from requisitionsLook for cost–saving opportunitiesProcess returns for rejected goodsHandle shortages by finding alternatives or working with engineeringHelp resolve goods–in discrepanciesSupport the wider procurement team with daily tasksWork with internal teams across the businessHelp resolve invoice and payment issuesSupport ongoing process improvements

Essential Skills & Experience

Self–motivated with a flexible, hands–on approachStrong negotiation and communication skills Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workloadSolid understanding of purchasing principles and commercial awarenessHigh attention to detail and accuracyNumerate with good IT skills, including intermediate Microsoft ExcelStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environmentPrevious experience in a procurement or buying roleExperience within a complex manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with SAP systemsImmediate or short–notice availability preferredApply today to find out more!
