Tungsten Grey Renault 5 GT Turbo – 73,000 miles – MOT until June 2027 – No Advisories



A genuine enthusiast-owned Renault 5 GT Turbo that I rebuilt and put back on the road myself last year after the car had been dry stored by the previous owner for over five years.

The car has been extensively recommissioned, with pretty much everything either upgraded, refurbished or replaced with new parts where available. I have receipts for a large amount of the work and parts.

The shell is extremely solid throughout with no rust including the underside, and the car is in very good overall condition. The bodywork isn't concourse with a few small dings and scratches here and there, but these are minor and to be expected on a 36-year-old car.

It starts, runs, drives and stops exactly as it should. The engine is currently set up conservatively at around 16 psi, with the fuelling correctly dialled in both on and off boost. It's more than quick enough for me and has been built with reliability and usability in mind rather than chasing power figures.

The car has covered only around 300 miles of dry use over the last year since being rebuilt.

Reason for sale is simply lack of use. The car is spending far more time sitting in the garage than being driven, which seems a shame.

It's ready to enjoy and given the amount of work and money that has gone into it I am in no rush to sell.

These cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find in this condition, and good, solid GT Turbos are only getting harder to come by.

The car is garaged, and genuine inspections are welcome.

Located in East Ayrshire, just south of Glasgow. Glasgow and Prestwick airports are both within easy reach, making viewing possible for anyone travelling from further afield.
