Blackhurst Garages is a family-owned, local business that has been operating in Whitchurch, Shropshire since 1939. We have been trading since 1926, originally in Chelford, but then moved to Whitchurch in 1939 when founder Fred Blackhurst’s son Geoff began working alongside his father. Throughout the Second World War, the business was involved with repairing cars, tractors, and agricultural machinery for the home front. When Fred retired in 1958 Geoff took his place. The garage is still trading from this site on Wrexham Road today and has expanded to a purpose-built workshop in 2006 at Shakespeare Way.

The present-day establishment is headed by David Blackhurst, Fred’s grandson, and can boast a fourth generation of the family when in 2010 David’s son Bertie joined the team in the same year Blackhurst Garages took on the Ford franchise to go along side their existing relationship with Renault and Dacia. Our philosophy is simple; to provide excellent customer service and offer great value for money.
