Im very pleased to offer for sale this superb 2004/53 Renault Sport Clio 172 Cup with a low 66000 Miles, excellent Full Service History in totally Original and exceptional condition.A rare opportunity to own a genuinely clean and original Renault Clio 172 Cup, becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition and mileage.This is a very well-preserved example with just 66, 000 miles from new, backed by a full service history and presented in completely standard, unmodified condition exactly how enthusiasts like us want them.The car is in excellent condition with matching Contisport Contact 3 tyres all around. The bodywork is very clean with no rust issues, which is a known weak point on these. The interior is also in great shape with minimal wear, reflecting how well the car has been looked after.Well maintained with a comprehensive service history. Any maintenance carried out has been done properly and documented. Has had Cambelt, Dephaser, Springs, Shocks all by Renault specialist.The 172 Cup is often regarded as one of the best drivers cars of its era lightweight, simple and incredibly engaging. This example really shows why, with sharp handling, a strong naturally aspirated high revving engine and a raw driving feel thats hard to find in modern cars. The thinner glass, lack of ABS, air-conditioning and sound deadening certainly makes it feels more raw, and definitely more frenzied when hurled down the nearest B road. Unlike the later 182 Cup and Trophy, the 172 Cup was truly hardcore, going without ABS and traction control in the pursuit of ultimate simplicity. Air conditioning was omitted and halogen headlights replaced the usual xenon units for a reduction in weight and cost. The UV-reflective windscreen, rain-sensing wipers and headlight washer jets were all ditched for the same reason, while bespoke, thinned glass was developed specifically for the Cup. The supportive seats also swapped their leather and Alcantara coverings for a low-cost, low-weight fabric. It all added up to a staggering 99kg weight loss.My favourite thing about it is how honest and involving it is to drive it always puts a smile on your face, whether its a short run or a longer drive.
