My friend and i came from Waterloo today and unfortunately our tickets were on our phone. Our phones died on the train home due to the train itself not having working sockets, we tried to leave the station explaining to the guard that our phones died and that our tickets are on there. She then accused us of not having tickets, then my friend breathed and she shouted at us accusing us of vaping in her face? Neither my friend or I vape and the “smoke” was our breath from the cold. When we explained this to her and she realised it was just the cold she didn’t apologise instead saying “well someone walked past and vaped” Eventually we crossed to the other side and explained it to the other guard who let us through no bother.

Staines is a solid train station. There are plentiful RDFs (refuse disposal facilities) here as well as a number of easy to access BEDs (bodily excretion depositories). This can be hard to find at train stations but Staines stands proud in this regard. I won't be drawn to comment as to whether the Eastside or Westside of this station is de best, to do so could cause consternation among the locals. To me the whole station was amply clean, tidy and in good working order.

I left my bag at the station and managed to get in contact with the team whilst on the train. Was promotly told that the staff had the bag and that it was being kept safe in the office. On arrival, Raymond was friendly and handed over the bag with a smile on his face. Great team. Thank you all so much :)
