Attendance Officer

Annual Salary: GBP32,215 - GBP34,211 FTE (GBP28,172 - GBP29,918 pro rata)Location: West /Central London, LondonJob Type: Full-time - Potentially temp - permanent for the right personWe are seeking a proactive and dedicated Attendance Officer to play a key role in supporting and improving student attendance across the school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' education by helping them overcome barriers to learning and promoting a culture of punctuality, consistency, and engagement.

Day-to-day of the role:

Monitor, analyse, and report on student attendance using our management systems (Arbor).Communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, and staff to ensure a robust approach to attendance and punctuality.Work closely with the AVP and Education Welfare Officer to design, implement, and evaluate attendance interventions.Build positive relationships with families to support students where attendance is a concern, conducting home visits when necessary.Collaborate with external agencies and the Local Authority where appropriate, including managing Fixed Penalty Notice referrals and CME procedures.Provide accurate data and reports to inform SLT decisions and contribute to whole-school improvement.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Organised, approachable, and confident communicator who thrives on building relationships and making a difference.Strong attention to detail and a solution-focused mindset.Ability to manage competing priorities, identify trends, and take initiative to improve outcomes.Experience in an educational setting is preferred.Knowledge of attendance legislation and DfE guidance would be advantageous.Whole School Recruitment vetting will be completed on the successful applicant including Enhanced DBS clearance,
