HR Officer

Description

We're looking for an experienced HR Officer to join a busy and people-focused team in Banbury on a full time, permanent basis, office based - full-time hours are 40 per week, but our client will consider 35 hours. This is a hands-on HR role where you'll be a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.

As HR Officer, you will be responsible for:

Providing first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employeesSupporting employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processesCoordinating recruitment, offers, pre-employment checks and onboardingSupporting managers with investigations, meetings and HR documentationManaging absence, wellbeing and Occupational Health processesMaintaining accurate HR records and producing HR reports and management informationSupporting employee engagement, communications and recognition initiativesAssisting with HR projects, policy updates and continuous improvementEnsuring HR processes are consistent, compliant and aligned with UK employment legislationWe're looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident in their HR knowledge. You'll need to be comfortable working closely with managers, handling sensitive situations professionally and balancing a busy workload.

Ideally, you'll have:

Previous experience in an HR Officer or HR Advisor positionGood knowledge of UK employment law and HR processesExperience supporting employee relations casesStrong communication and relationship-building skillsExcellent organisation and attention to detailThe ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environmentCIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)Experience within a manufacturing, logistics, FMCG or similarly operational environment would be beneficial, as would experience with HR systems and time & attendance platforms.
